Finding Your Place: Castle Manor

Have you ever dreamed of living in a castle? Hailed as one of Atlantic Canada’s most unique properties, Castle Manor is a Gothic Revival estate-turned-luxury-condos castle located at the corner of Mountain Road and Archibald Street in Moncton. Once an orphanage and then a senior citizen’s home, this unique heritage property was built around 1906 and brings an old-world sense of grandeur to the heart of Moncton.

Surrounded by trees and situated off the road with park-like surroundings, Castle Manor offers 13 individual newly-renovated condo units. Each unit has been uniquely designed and restored in order to allow for some of the original Gothic features to remain. In fact, most of the building’s windows, doors, and elevators were custom-made in order to fit the original architecture.

The building features include an original staircase, Tudor arch window openings, and exposed freestone walls combined with modern urban updates and finishes. Among the 13 units available is a penthouse, as well as a unit with a large ceiling dome simply referred to as ‘the Chapel’, aptly nicknamed for its history as being the site of the original orphanage chapel.

Castle Manor is a truly iconic offering to the City of Moncton and I am so happy to see this cherished piece of architecture carefully preserved and completely updated.
